Firstly, who are Run Communications and what do you do?

Run Communications is an integrated communications agency working in sport.

We produce impactful content based on insight and great ideas with the aim of driving an action from consumers.

We work across multiple channels to generate a positive consumer response. This could be through connecting brands with audiences, increasing participation numbers in physical activity, increasing engagement with audiences, attracting fans to events, and supporting membership drives.

You are one of our longest Hubbers here at the Dock Hub, how long have you been working here and what makes The Dock Hub such a great place to work?

Run is nine years old this month and we’ve been at The Dock Hub for most of that time. The staff at The Dock Hub is why we stay. They are a great bunch and always happy to help support their businesses.

Run Communications was founded in 2012. What is your number one piece of advice for someone looking to start their own business?

Anyone can do it and make it work so go for it. It can be very tough and unpredictable (look at the last 18 months), and it is rare that things fall into your lap but if you get out there, meet people and forge connections you can make things happen.

It’s a people business and our people are great.

It’s great to see sporting events up and running again. What exciting projects have you been involved in this year?

The recent Olympic and Paralympic Games have been a great experience for us. While the athletes were winning medals in Tokyo, we worked to deliver 13 events all across the UK on behalf of The National Lottery, the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association which inspired communities to take part in sport.

Our media activity around the events delivered over 3000 pieces of coverage, 2 million TV viewing figures, 5 million listeners and 140 million circulation figures across a host of major brands including BBC Breakfast, C4, The Times The Guardian, Sky News, ITV News, Radio 1, 2,4 and 5Live.

Tell us about one of Run Communication’s biggest successes...

We have hired really well and have a great team. It’s a people business and our people are great.

Introduce us to the newest member of your team…

Charlie is out latest recruit, and he is doing superbly. He possesses exactly the right kind of can-do attitude which suits our business. He is smart, personable, hard-working, and great to be around. And he’s a big Seagulls fan to boot!
